Privacy policy
Last updated 15 October 2026.
This policy explains what happens to your files and information when you use Swoopty (swoopty.com.au). We wrote it to match exactly how the site works.
Tools that run on your device
Most Swoopty tools run entirely in your web browser. When you use them, your files, text and settings are processed on your own device and are not uploaded to Swoopty. Closing or reloading the page discards them. Each tool page shows a badge saying where it runs.
To make these tools work, your browser downloads program files from Swoopty (for example the PDF engine, image codecs and OCR language data). These downloads contain no information about you or your files.
AI tools
Remove background and AI image upscaler download an AI model file from Swoopty the first time you use them. The model then runs on your device; your images are not uploaded. Your browser may keep the model in its cache storage so it doesn’t need downloading again. You can clear it from your browser’s site data settings.
Tools that upload files
These tools need software that only runs on our server:
When you start one of these tools:
- Your file (and, for password tools, the password you enter) is sent to our server over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
- The file is stored in a private temporary folder with a random name and processed automatically. Nobody looks at it.
- The result is deleted from the server as soon as your browser downloads it. Uploads are deleted as soon as processing finishes. If something fails, or you cancel, everything is deleted straight away.
- A clean-up process removes anything left over, so no file stays on the server for more than about 15 minutes.
- Passwords are held in memory only while the job runs. They are never written to logs.
- We do not use your files for any other purpose, and we do not share them.
What we record
- Job records: for upload tools, the server logs a short job reference, the tool used, how long it took and the size of the result. These logs do not contain file names, file contents or passwords.
- Abuse protection: to limit how many uploads one connection can make, the server keeps your IP address in memory while your upload jobs exist and for the rate-limit period, up to about 15 minutes. It is not written to disk or logs.
- Hosting: like any website, requests pass through our hosting provider’s network, which may process technical information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the service.
Swoopty does not use analytics or tracking scripts of its own.
Advertising
Swoopty is free because it shows ads from Google AdSense. Google’s ad code runs in your browser and Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Swoopty does not send your files, text or tool results to Google or any advertiser: they stay in your browser as described above. You can manage personalised ads at adssettings.google.com, and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Visitors in regions that require it are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown. The AI tools’ pages show no ads.
Cookies and storage on your device
Swoopty itself does not set cookies (Google’s advertising may, as explained above). It saves a few preferences in your browser’s local storage: your favourite tools, recently used tools and your light/dark theme choice. These stay on your device and are never sent to us. You can clear them at any time in your browser’s settings.
Children
Swoopty does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your rights and questions
Because we don’t keep accounts or your files, there is normally no personal information about you for us to access or correct. If you have a question or complaint about privacy, please contact us. We aim to handle information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Changes
If the way Swoopty handles information changes, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
