What makes this AI upscaling?
Real-ESRGAN (general x4v3) is a neural network trained to rebuild sharp detail. Ordinary resizing only interpolates between existing pixels. If the model cannot run, Swoopty offers a clearly labelled standard resize instead.
How is 2× made?
The model always works at 4×. For 2×, each processed tile is scaled down by half with a high-quality filter.
Does it work on faces and text?
It sharpens most photos and graphics. Very small faces or text can come out smoothed or invented, so check the result.
