How are PNGs compressed?

PNGs are optimised losslessly with OxiPNG, so they look identical. For bigger savings, convert photos to JPG, WebP or AVIF.

What if the compressed file is bigger?

Swoopty shows the size change and keeps your original if the new file is not smaller.
